The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Cattlemen’s Industry Convention brought over 6,000 cattlemen and women to San Diego to converse, learn, and share. The growing trend of social media was well used at the convention; #BeefMeet was the official hashtag of the convention and other companies were encouraging posting photos on social media with other hashtags as well.
Using the hashtag #BeefMeet was a geat way to keep up with other events happen throughout the convention. When I was hearing one speaker and missing another, following #BeefMeet on Twitter allowed me to read what I was missing in 140 characters.
Even some of my tweets got retweeted!
Slowly, agriculture is utilizing the endless possibilities of social media and the power of the hashtag. We can communicate and share ideas more fluently and timely than phone calls or letters after the convention. Integration of social media was widely used in San Diego, let’s see what CIC in Nashville brings next year.
